Beau was so relaxed and fun to hang out with for our session at Mountain Run Lake Park in Culpeper. It was a beautiful, crisp day, and Beau was ready to rock with all his outfit changes. After we’d been shooting for a while, he confessed that he’d spent a lot of time looking for armor to potentially use during the session. When he told his mom, she wasn’t enthusiastic about his plans and replied emphatically, “Don’t bring armor, you’ll ruin her business!”
I laughed and assured him that I always encourage my seniors to bring props, and I would absolutely LOVE to shoot someone in full armor! That would be epic, and I would be thrilled to show off those photos. But I also loved how his mom was concerned with the growth and success of my business. I have awesome clients, what can I say?!
Beau’s assessment of me as a photographer was summed up in wonderfully succinct guy language, “She was cool and chill.” That’s something I am happy to claim. Tense sessions are no fun…relaxed, natural, and fun are definitely how I prefer to run things.
Beau is going to have a powerful impact as he leaves to serve as a missionary in a few months. I’m so excited to see where his path takes him…and I hope that he finds armor there, along which a photographer cool enough to want to capture it. 😉
